In the morning, coffee seems to taste just right-at least for me. David is a firm believer that all coffee should be banned. Grudgingly, he admits it smells good. It’s the taste he doesn’t care for. He prefers chocolate milk!
Flying in the face of tradition, in my book, coffee day can happen any time a good conversation over a cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate—or a cold glass of chocolate milk-- is shared with a friend.
I was delighted with this little poem by Kelly Conaboy written for what is “allegedly coffee day”, celebrated annually on September 29.
Coffee Day
by Kelly Conaboy - September 29, 2017 - the Hairpin
Coffee, coffee
You wake me up I am on My second cup
Coffee, coffee You’re so good Have another? Yes I would
Coffee, coffee In a pot I love you A very lot
Coffee, coffee Warm and brown Turn my frown Upside-down
Coffee, coffee You’re my friend I hope this cup Will never end
Coffee, coffee Favorite drink Hate to pour You down the sink
Coffee, coffee It’s your day Celebrate Your favorite way
Coffee, coffee In my mug A warm smile A nice hug
Coffee
Coffee Day – allegedly
--Kelly Conaboy
One day soon, plan on sharing a conversation over your favorite drink with a friend!
