Goodbye to 2020
Hello to 2021
This year, common-woman focuses on practicing gratitude. I asked a friend what practicing gratitude means to her. Here is her answer:
"Practicing gratitude means recognizing the good that is already yours."
This morning, I was grouchy about chipping ice off the slippery sidewalk. It was a challenge and my arms were really tired. I remembered my friend and her encouragement to practice gratitude. At that moment, I highly doubted there would be 3 good things that were already mine.
I came up with this:
1.There was some ice melt left in the bag from last winter
2.The sun came out and started melting the ice
3. Birds were singing in the trees
So there actually were 3 good things to recognize and to appreciate!
At first, the ice-covered bushes were gloomy.
The icy branches along with the sunshine and the clear, blue sky made an awesome difference.
Gratitude for the sunshine, the birds and the ice melt made the job go faster and easier.
Looking forward to exploring 2021 with you - with gratitude.
In every way and everywhere we accept this with all gratitude Acts 24:3
