Sunday, September 12 we celebrate Grandparents' Day officially the first Sunday following Labor Day. It's a perfect time to appreciate and to talk with family and friends of all ages. Some will have fascinating stories that often cover many years. Others will share brand-new perspectives on their lives. Whether it's FaceTime, Zoom, a phone conversation or face-to-face conversation, talking together and listening together is a great gift. It can make Grandparents' Day truly a Grand Day!
This is a good time to share a special blog post. By a stroke of great good fortune, I met filmmaker Sky Bergman in the spring of 2021 during a class on Zoom. She shared a recent film she had created in honor of her grandmother. I viewed her beautiful film Lives Well Lived. Overcome with the power of the stories, I reached out to Sky. After a few conversations, we began making plans to put together a showing in northeast Kansas, Covid placed a pause on our plans.(We have not given up.)
Imagine our delight when Sky shared the news that the film Lives Well Lived is featured from September 1-28 on PBS stream! Just in time for Grandparents' Day, 2021!
Many thanks to Sky and to PBS for sharing her wonderful film.
And a Happy Grandparents Day to all people everywhere!

*Please note that the film contains some historical stories and historical footage which may be difficult or uncomfortable for some viewers. Only the kindest, most pure and honest intention for honoring people and their histories is the basis for this beautiful film. It is truly a gift from the heart. Thank you to Sky Bergman for her work and for sharing the film.
