Today, Carol reads “Clever Gretel” from “Fifty Famous Fairy Tales”. She bought this book at the dime store for 59 cents when she was 8 years old. She was very proud she could write her name in cursive, and autographed the title page, using her mother’s pen and ink set. Already a budding librarian, young Carol assigned this book the catalog number 40!
