Worry Jar: 1 jar with a lid, Paper to write on, Pen or Pencil
Sit in a comfortable place. Make a list of all the things that are worrying you. For 2 minutes, look at the list. Next, place the list in the worry jar. Put on the lid. Save the paper with the worries in the jar for tomorrow. Set your phone for 10 minutes. Close your eyes. Rest until the timer goes off. Put away the jar until tomorrow. Let’s store our worries away until then.
Tomorrow: Sit in a comfortable place. Take out the yesterday’s list from the worry jar. Draw one line through any worries that may be smaller. Add new worries. Look at the list for 2 minutes, then put it back into the jar for tomorrow. Set your phone for 10 minutes. Close your eyes. Rest until the timer goes off. As we did yesterday, put away the jar until tomorrow. We can store our worries away until tomorrow. Be at peace.
Think about today. Today, maybe you are struggling with fear. Or the pain of being judged. Or anger at the way life is right now. Hang on. You, friend, are recognized as worth it. No matter what. You are always worth it. You are worth it if you are in fear because you need money to pay the bills. You are worth it if you are frightened because of the sounds and impacts of situations in this world. You are worth it if you are feeling guilty because you have enough, and other people don’t have enough. You are worth it if you are feeling angry because nothing seems the same. You are worth it if you feel grief at the loss of normal. You are worth it if your opinion is different from the opinion of someone else. You are worth it if you lose your job. You are worth it if you have a job. You are worth it if you need help. You are worth it if you give help. You are worth it. You are worth it as you plan for the now and the future, in spite of being afraid. Good for you! You are worth it. No matter what.
You Are Worth It.
You being you are totally worth it.
Please be kind to yourself. You can choose to be anything. Choose to be kind.
You being you is exactly right.
Thank you for reading common-woman. Be safe and be well.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
